Counsellor

About Nico

Hi there, I’m Nico. I am a trainee humanistic integrative counsellor with a longstanding interest in psychotherapy, mindfulness, and emotional wellbeing. Alongside my counselling training, I have worked with adults experiencing a range of emotional and mental health difficulties, including depression, anxiety, and addiction. I have also spent many years involved in mindfulness and compassion-based practices through the London Buddhist Centre, where I helped facilitate Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) groups. Before retraining as a counsellor, I worked as a screenwriter and teacher, experiences which deepened my curiosity about human relationships, identity, and the stories we carry about ourselves.

Area of Focus

I am interested in working with issues including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life transitions, loneliness, identity, emotional overwhelm, and questions around meaning and purpose. I also have experience supporting people affected by stress and addiction.

What to Expect

My approach is humanistic and integrative, meaning I draw on different therapeutic perspectives while remaining grounded in the importance of the therapeutic relationship itself. I am particularly interested in how our past experiences, relationships, and patterns of relating can shape the way we experience ourselves and others in the present. I also bring an awareness of mindfulness and self-compassion into my work where appropriate, helping clients develop greater emotional awareness and resilience.
