About Matt

Hi, I’m Matt. I’m a trainee integrative counsellor currently completing a PGDip in Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of East London. Before training as a counsellor, I worked in roles focused on understanding people’s experiences — particularly around relationships, difficult life events, and navigating complex systems. Over time, this led me toward counselling and a deeper interest in how people make sense of themselves and others. I’m particularly interested in how relationships, life events, and the wider context around us shape how we feel and how we respond. I tend to approach things with curiosity and patience, and I value taking the time to understand what feels important to you.

What to Expect

I offer a calm, non-judgemental space where we can go at your pace. You don’t need to have everything figured out before coming to counselling. We can start wherever it feels right for you — whether that’s something specific or a more general sense that things don’t feel quite right. I don’t tend to rush toward quick solutions. Instead, we can take time to explore what’s going on for you, especially anything that feels confusing, stuck, or difficult to put into words. Often clarity develops gradually. My role is to sit alongside you as we work things through.
