About Lou

My name is Lou, and I am a counsellor working from a person-centred foundation, together with psychodynamic psychotherapy to support each individual in a way that honours their unique needs and experiences. I have experience supporting clients with a range of difficulties, including depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, and relationship challenges. I am a Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS), and I work in line with their ethical frameworks. I am currently working towards a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, which continues to shape my collaborative, reflective, and relational approach to my work.

Area of Focus

My work is grounded in a person-centred approach, meaning I see you as the expert in your own life. I believe that meaningful change occurs within a trusting therapeutic relationship, where you feel accepted and understood. Alongside this, my psychodynamic training allows us to gently explore how past experiences, and unconscious patterns may be influencing present-day difficulties. I work in a way that is collaborative and responsive to you as an individual, supporting deeper self-understanding, self-compassion, and more fulfilling ways of relating to yourself and others.

What to Expect

I offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can explore what is bringing you to therapy at your own pace. Some clients come with specific concerns they would like to focus on, while others wish to explore longer-standing emotional or relational patterns. I offer open-ended therapy, and we can think together about what feels most helpful for you. My aim is to provide a space where you feel listened to, respected, and able to speak openly about your experiences.
