About Jonathan

My name is Jonathan. I am a trainee counsellor currently undertaking a placement as part of my counselling training. I aim to offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients can feel safe to explore whatever is going on for them. Having previously studied philosophy, I bring with me a strong interest in how we make sense of our experiences and the questions we ask about ourselves and our lives. This influences my counselling approach by encouraging open, reflective conversations that respect each person’s unique perspective. I work integratively, which means I draw from different therapeutic approaches to suit the individual needs of each client. At the heart of my work is the belief that genuine, empathic connection can be a powerful part of change and healing.

Area of Focus

I'm particularly interested in how people find meaning and direction in times of uncertainty or change. Whether it's a life transition, a period of questioning, or simply feeling "stuck," I’m drawn to the space where people begin to reflect on who they are and what matters to them. I'm also curious about how we relate to ourselves — the inner dialogue we carry, the expectations we hold, and the stories we tell about our lives. I believe therapy can be a place to gently explore and, if needed, reshape those narratives. While I work with a broad range of experiences, I’m especially interested in working with clients who are navigating questions of identity, purpose, and self-understanding.

What to Expect

You can expect a calm, open, and supportive space where you are free to explore whatever feels important to you. Our sessions are a time for you — there is no pressure to come with anything specific, and no topic is too big or too small. My role is to listen without judgment, to be alongside you in whatever you’re experiencing, and to support you in making sense of your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. I work collaboratively, meaning we’ll shape the sessions together based on what feels most helpful to you.
