George Fairclough
Counsellor
Welcome. I’m George, a trainee integrative counsellor and BACP student member. Before training, I spent several years working in the arts, which I loved for its creativity, collaboration, and diversity of experience. I've always had a genuine interest in people, their stories, and how we relate to one another. I’m also a Queer practitioner, and this shapes how I relate to the work. I understand what it can feel like to move through the world holding parts of yourself carefully — the exhaustion of feeling misunderstood, or having to explain yourself to be accepted. I try to offer a space where you can arrive as your full self, without needing to shrink or edit who you are.
I aim to offer a steady, calm space where you feel emotionally met rather than judged or rushed. I value warmth, honesty, safety, and the belief that you do not have to carry things alone. Sessions are led by you, at a pace that feels manageable — sometimes reflective and exploratory, or sometimes more in the present moment. I'm less interested in forcing outcomes and more in being alongside you in whatever feels important, difficult, or unresolved.
